If you’re looking for that safe, comfortable, amateur-friendly type who also has plenty of talent to keep developing, Johnny checks a lot of boxes.

Johnny has been owned and ridden by an older adult amateur and is incredibly comfortable and uncomplicated on the flat. He has super smooth gaits, an easy feel, and is the kind of horse you can genuinely enjoy riding every day.

Johnny loves to jump. He has been out to schooling shows at Devon with a junior rider, has gone cross-country schooling, and continues to show that he is game for just about anything you point him toward. He is brave, willing, and athletic, with no limitations on scope or height for someone who wants to continue developing him up the levels.

He also hacks out alone or in company, making him just as enjoyable outside of the ring as he is in it.

On the ground, Johnny is very safe and kind, but he can occasionally be a little young and pushy with his manners. He does best with thoughtful, consistent handling and the occasional gentle reminder of his personal space. He responds very well to those reminders and is the type who simply benefits from someone continuing to reinforce good ground manners rather than needing any sort of forceful handling and very respectful to a rope halter.

While he has plenty of ability, he doesn’t need a professional ride to enjoy the job. Johnny is amateur safe and absolutely thrives in a program, where consistent riding and thoughtful handling allow him to be his very best. Johnny could be a really fun horse for someone wanting to event, jump, hunt, do the hunters, or simply have a quality all-around horse.

He also has great feet and is currently turned out solo.

Johnny is one of those versatile horses where we could genuinely see him excelling in a number of directions. Safe and smooth enough for the amateur, with the athleticism, scope, and love of jumping to make him an exciting horse for someone with bigger goals.
