DF Andrew
“Andy” 2012 Dutch Warmblood 15.3hh Gelding
DF Andrew, “Andy,” is a 2012 Dutch Warmblood gelding by the Oldenburg stallion Contango. Standing at 15.3h with a big-bodied build, he takes up the rider’s leg well and offers a substantial feel.
Andy has a solid show record, including competing at USEF Beginner Novice with his current owner, along with extensive mileage at unrecognized horse trials and schooling dressage shows. While Andy would happily continue eventing, his versatility makes him equally well-suited for the hunter or jumper rings with a junior or adult amateur. Currently jumping 0.80m courses with ease and showing scope for more, he is a strong candidate to continue developing in any direction—including fox hunting or a multi-ring program.
Andy is known for his kind, safe, and personable nature, making him an excellent match for a junior or adult amateur. He is straightforward, confidence-building, and genuinely enjoys his job both at home and in the show ring. On the ground, he is a barn favorite—friendly, cuddly, and easy to handle.
He is an easy keeper (the type that gains weight just looking at grass), requires no maintenance, and is barefoot behind. Andy has been turned out successfully in a group of geldings but is equally content on his own.
With his exceptional temperament, proven show experience, and true versatility, Andy is one of the most well-rounded horses we’ve had the opportunity to offer and is ready to excel in a variety of programs.
